Syd is a 20-something non-binary producer, writer, artist, video game nerd and animal lover. Their passion for music started very early in life, and their first serious foray into it began in their pre-teens, participating in choral and wind band programs at their school just outside of Dallas, Texas, where they would eventually go on to participate in the TMEA All-State band.

They got their degree in Contemporary Writing and Production at Berklee College of Music in May of 2020, right at the start of the coronavirus pandemic. During their time at Berklee they found themselves fascinated with writing and producing immersive works, where the placement of the instruments and the physical experience of hearing sounds was just as important (if not more important) than the qualities of the sounds themselves. After graduating, however, this became increasingly difficult since live music experiences weren't happening anymore and studio access became very limited.

This is when Syd began building sydastry studios, a recording studio/livestreaming project with hopes to make the music industry more equitable and accessible to young queer artists, a lifelong mission they will continue to pursue. They hope to encourage people to follow their creative instincts regardless of background, which is why they host the Content Farm community art showcase monthly on the last Sunday of every month at 8 pm central time on their Twitch livestream.

They've worked freelance in the meantime, creating and compiling music for livestreamers to use for free, editing and mixing voice demos for Extra Terrible productions, and writing and mixing for podcasts, albums, videos, games, and more that they are passionate about.

Syd hopes to continue pursuing writing and production in capacities that excite them, particularly in games and virtual live experiences, and has many projects underway that will accomplish just that.
