About

sydastry is a DFW-based artist creating pop music about sleep, love, and caring deeply. Originally a classical clarinetist, they spent all their time in music school broadening their horizons into writing and producing across genres. This work revealed itself when they released their debut album too much ? in March 2025; while an electronic pop vocal remains steady throughout its core, each song displays a range of influences, from R&B to emo to future bass, earning its endearing label by collaborator Ángel Sánchez as “genre soup.” A short project, it served as a purge of many feelings sydastry recognizes as an inherent part of their experience as a queer artist: idealization, yearning, and fear of overstepping or taking up too much space paired with unapologetic vulnerability.
Their new single “moonlight” serves as an epilogue to sydastry’s debut album, and explores what happens at the end of a night out marred by chaos of your own making. Their most detailed and expansive shimmering pop song yet, this final purge unfurls as the culmination of the past year, musically and emotionally.
